Omid Oloumi, is the founder and director of Khorshīd. Raised in France, with Persian heritage, Omid has had the privilege to study with accomplished yoga and meditation masters in France and the USA. She is a Yoga Alliance registered teacher with more than 1600 hours of training in yoga and mindfulness meditation.She holds a master’s degree in International Law from France. Fluent in English, French and Persian.
Omid is deeply grateful to all of her teachers, including John Campbell PhD and Eddie Stern – her earliest guides to Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga in New York City. She thanks David Swenson, Richard Freeman, Mary Taylor, Colleen Saidman, Rodney Yee, and Leslie Kaminoff for the impact they have had on her over years.
She draws inspiration from Zen and Tibetan Buddhist lineages, having studied with Thich Nhat Hanh, Pema Chödrön, Robert Thurman, Michele Lowe, Scott Tusa, Megan Mook and Michael Aranoff.
Omid is forever grateful for Georg Feuerstein PhD and Daniel Simpson for showing her the depth of the historical and philosophical aspects of Indian traditions. Also she is thankful to Zoë Slatoff PhD, for her teaching of Sanskrit.
